Mondo Generator have introduced a brand new album, We Stand Towards You, arriving October twenty seventh by way of Heavy Psych Sounds. The Nick Oliveri-fronted band additionally shared the lead single “Dying March.”
Since his days in Kyuss and Queens of the Stone Age, Mondo Generator has been one of many core inventive shops for Oliveri. As heard on “Dying March,” the band continues to dish out groove-laden stoner rock with a punk-rock edge. And Oliveri’s vocals are as unhinged and acidic as ever.
“’Dying March’ is for everybody who refuses to again down, lay down, bend over to authority,” remarked Oliveri in a press announcement.
Relating to the album — self-described because the band’s “heaviest” thus far — he added: “9 songs of fireside, fury and angst! Among the songs are reflecting my private ideas and a few songs are about household and shut mates dying or committing suicide and a few are about my expertise with the corona lockdowns. It is a file of actual emotion and never for the weak.”
Mondo Generator have had a revolving-door lineup through the years, and Oliveri (on bass and lead vocals) is at the moment backed by guitarist Mike Pygmie and drummer Mike Amster.
