Metallica’s Lars Ulrich Pens New Introduction to Hunter S. Thompson’s Screwjack

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has written the introduction to a brand new version of Hunter S. Thompson’s Screwjack, a set of brief tales initially printed in 1991.

“Past psyched to have had the chance to put in writing an introduction for the most recent version of Hunter S. Thompson’s ’91 assortment of brief tales, Screwjack,” wrote Ulrich on Instagram. “Studying these tales remind me what a treasure — and mindfuck — Hunter S. Thompson’s immortal phrases proceed to be.”

The steel legend added, “Thanx to @simonandschuster for encouraging me to place pen to paper for this. Test it out if you happen to like issues wild, salacious and unsettling.”

Screwjack was initially independently revealed in a restricted run of 300 numbered and 26 lettered copies, after which republished by Simon & Schuster in 2000. The brand new version, that includes Ulrich’s intro, is now out there in paperback and Kindle editions through Amazon.

Thompson, finest recognized for founding the gonzo journalism motion and for his 1972 guide Concern and Loathing in Las Vegas, died at age 67 of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in 2005.
